As some of you may or may not know, the Air Show is in town...here at Travis AFB. Yesterday, I went and worked the Officer's Spouses booth for a little while, Paul worked most of the day and Cooper had a babysitter for a few hours. After I worked my shift, I went home, fed Cooper and we went up to base to see the Air Show. We met up with Paul and we tailgated at the top of the hill and watched the Thunderbirds do their tricks. It was quite relaxing and tons of fun. It was a bit loud at times, so Paul covered Cooper's little ears, but most of the time Cooper was fixated on the airplanes going around and around. Today, we took a family trip to Best Buy...thrilling! Paul was shopping while I was entertaining Cooper. What fun! LOL! As you can imagine, my patience was running thin. After that, Paul headed off to work the Air Show again. It kind of ticks me off...who schedules an Air Show and makes all the pilots work, on Labor Day weekend? And why are they making Paul work when he is fixing to deploy for almost 3mos. Ugh! I am ticked! I know we will be fine while Paul is gone, but it is always hard the week before he leaves. I know how much he is gonna miss out on while he is gone and how much we will miss him. I know he dreads it and he hates missing so much of Cooper growing up, especially when he is growing up so fast! I got a little teary-eyed thinking about it this morning...I am sure I will be a big ol' sap this entire week leading up to his deployment. Well, that's all I got...chow for now...

What a week
So...this week is sooooo not my week, nor Cooper's. Monday, I fell while holding Cooper. Of course, he is okay, but only because I did not exactly fall gracefully and took the brunt of the fall to ensure that he does not go crashing into the wall. Then today, the scariest of all happened. I gave Cooper his bottle while he was leaning back in his high chair, as he always does, and I went to grab the phone and before I knew it, Cooper had thrown his bottle and decided to climb on top of his high chair and dive to the floor...the tile floor. I ran like an Olympic sprinter and grabbed him. Of course, he was SCREAMING and I tried to calm him down, but he was almost inconsolable at that point. I was going to take him to the ER, but the military nurse on the phone talked me through checking him out. No blood. Very alert. She said she thinks he is okay and I am just suppose to monitor him closely. I thought I was going to die when I saw him on the floor. Bless his little heart. Within about 4 hours, he was back to his giggly little self! :) Thank God.
